The 2019 Antenatal Shared Care Orientation & Update workshop will be held in two sessions:
Session 1: Orientation to the Riverina Antenatal Shared Care program
Specifically for GPs who have patients that may deliver at Wagga Base Hospital and would like to participate in the shared care program. GPs who attended training in 2016/2017/2018 do not need to attend this session. Those who attended the workshops in 2013/2014/2015 will need to attend the whole day if they wish to remain listed on the Antenatal Shared Care Brochure. This session will be presented by local Obstetricians, GP Obstetricians and Midwives.
Session 1: Antenatal Orientation
8.30am – 1.05pm: (8 Category 2 CPD points) (if attending all day 40 Category 1 points)
Orientation to the Antenatal Shared Care Program & agreed levels of risk in pregnancy
Resources for Antenatal Shared Care Program - checklist and brochure
The Antenatal Clinic “booking in” visit current approaches to birthing, skin to skin, pain relief
1st Trimester Antenatal Screening for foetal abnormalities,
Dating of pregnancy & obstetric ultrasound, Non-invasive pre natal testing
Obesity, diabetes & nutrition, hypertension, anti-depressants, vaccinations and thyroid
Session 2: Antenatal Update
FOR ALL GPs (including GPs who have previously attended orientation training and GPs attending Session 1).
1.45 pm – 4.00pm: 2 hours (4 Category 2 CPD points or combined with Session 1 is eligible for 40 Category 1 points).
