RDN Health: Rural Health Workforce Scholarship Program

The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) provides scholarships and bursaries to support health professionals, including allied health, working in rural and remote Australia to build skills, capacity and scope of practice.

RDN opens several application rounds each financial year.

Round 1

Round 1 opens on 1 July 2026 and closes on 12 August 2026 for courses commencing on or after 1 July 2026:

  • Courses or activities must commence within four months of application

  • Outcomes will be advised after 13 November 2026

  • A maximum of two applications per person will be considered in this round

Future rounds

Rounds 2, 3 and 4 for 2026–27 are scheduled to open in October, January and April, respectively. Dates are subject to change—please check the RDN Health website for updates.
