Lead innovation and inspire for positive impact

Innovation in the Murrumbidgee is about finding better ways to deliver care – and using evidence, research and local knowledge to understand what will make the greatest difference.

During 2025-2026, MPHN worked with providers and partners to redesign paediatric, diabetes and chronic disease care, expand nurse-led models and make better use of the skills already within the primary care workforce. At the same time, growing health intelligence capability through initiatives such as LUMOS is providing a richer picture of how people move through the health system, helping identify gaps, anticipate need and inform future healthcare investment.

The work captured in this section shows innovation at different stages, from understanding the problem and testing new approaches to sharing successful regional ideas on the national stage.

We acknowledge and pay respects to the traditional owners of the lands on which MPHN operates; the Wiradjuri, Nari Nari, Wemba Wemba, Perepa Perepa, Yorta Yorta, Ngunnawal, Ngarigo, Bangerang and Yitha Yitha Nations. We recognise our communities are made up of many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples descended from additional mobs and clans who also call the Murrumbidgee region home.

We pay respect to elders past, present and future and recognise these lands have always been places of traditional healing and medicine, and this plays a role in shaping future health services.
