Primary Care Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program
The Department of Health and Aged Care’s Primary Care Nursing and Midwifery Scholarship Program, which focuses on improving the skills of nursing and midwifery health workers, is making 1,850 postgraduate scholarships available over the next four years.
These scholarships will enable registered nurses and midwives to undertake postgraduate study. This includes supporting registered nurses to become nurse practitioners and midwives to become endorsed midwives in the primary care and aged care health sector.
The program aims to build the health workforce in primary care, aged care, regional and rural areas to address workforce shortages and eligible applicants include registered nurses and midwives.
