Review of After-hours Primary Care Programs and Policy Report released

The review into primary care after hours programs and policy has recently been released. The report, A better after-hours system 2023-24 Review of After-hours Primary Care Programs and Policy, details the current landscape and recommendations for immediate improvements and options for long-term reform for Australia’s after-hours services.

It is pleasing to see the report picking up on some of the key recommendations made locally through the review process, including the need for improvement in the equity of access to after-hours services for people living in rural and remote areas and improving accessibility for consumers.

MPHN will continue to monitor the Department’s response and implementation of the reform measures while advocating for the unique needs of the Murrumbidgee region to ensure our communities have access to quality after hours services.
