Carer Conversations and Eating Disorders – free online session

Caring for someone with an eating disorder can raise many questions. Knowing where to start and what support is available can make a real difference.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is hosting a free online Carer Conversations and Eating Disorders session for people living in the MLHD region.

If changes in someone’s eating, or concerns around weight or body image have been noticed, this session offers a supportive place to begin.

The session will cover:

  • Understanding eating disorders

  • Local support options across MLHD

  • Practical strategies for carers and families

  • Lived‑experience insights from carers

  • Supports for carers and families available through Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA)

  • Guidance from clinicians, a GP, and eating‑disorder organisations including InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders, Butterfly Foundation and EDFA

Who should attend:

  • Carers, parents and family members supporting someone of any age
