New asthma resources and education for general practice
The National Asthma Council (NAC) has released two new resources to support implementation of the updated Australian Asthma Handbook and improve inhaler technique.
The Asthma in adults and adolescents quick reference guide provides a step-by-step, control-based approach to management. It includes tables outlining options and dosing regimens for anti-inflammatory reliever therapy (AIR-only) and maintenance-and-reliever therapy (MART).
The Inhaler technique for people with asthma or COPD information includes illustrations, photos and checklists for each inhaler, along with prompts to reinforce correct technique and regimens.
