Accreditation practice pointer: our patients can access resources that are culturally appropriate, translated, and/or in plain English

C1.4 C Our patients can access resources that are culturally appropriate, translated, and/or in plain English.

RACGP Standards for general practice

Patients must be given the opportunity to understand all available health resources relevant to their health journey. GPs consulting culturally and linguistically diverse patients  can access The Health Translations Directory for relevant resources.

General practices might also maintain a directory of websites and services from which patients can access translated resources. Likewise, they could keep information sheets in the common languages of the practice’s patient population.
