In recent months many members of the West Wyalong community have contributed to identifying the health needs of our region as part of a community-led project with Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) and Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD).

These identified health needs will be presented to the West Wyalong community on Tuesday 8 October, 6pm, at the West Wyalong Country Golf Club.

MPHN Chief Executive Officer Melissa Neal said the committee supporting the community-led approach have been working with MPHN and MLHD to identify the important health needs of West Wyalong.

“Consultation with community commenced earlier this year and the committee are now ready to present the findings. We are inviting people in West Wyalong to come along on Tuesday evening and hear about the identified health needs of their community.

“Last week we conducted focus groups involving mothers and babies, youth, older people and men’s groups.

“The presentation of these results and other feedback and data will provide the community an opportunity to learn about the health needs and validate the findings.

MLHD Chief Executive Jill Ludford said the information will lead to the development of strategies to deliver sustainable and effective local health services which address local needs.

“We have listened to the issues raised by the community and are inviting all interested members of the community to attend,” Ms Ludford said.
