Nominations for 2023 Primary Healthcare Awards now open
Nominations for Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network’s (MPHN) annual Primary Healthcare Awards opened today, recognising primary health professionals and organisations that have provided significant and exceptional service or an outstanding contribution to primary health care.
The awards honour the hard work and dedication of healthcare workers in the primary care setting and recognise the contribution the Murrumbidgee community makes to improving health across the region.
MPHN and firsthealth Board Chair Dr Jodi Culbert said the awards provide an important opportunity to say thank you to the people who care for our community.
“We want to recognise the talented and dedicated individuals and organisations who are working to improve health outcomes for people living in the Murrumbidgee,” said Dr Culbert.
“Working in primary healthcare is incredibly rewarding; it can also be very challenging.
“We’re continually impressed by the dedication shown by healthcare professionals and community organisations in this region – people who turn up day after day to help others because it’s their passion.
“We want to celebrate their success.”
The Primary Healthcare Awards feature four award categories: Murrumbidgee Community Grant of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare, Innovation, and Promoting Healthy Living.
MPHN CEO Melissa Neal is encouraging individuals, organisations and communities to submit award nominations prior to the 3 September closing date.
“Nominating your practice or organisation for an award is a great way of showing your appreciation for the people you work with,” said Ms Neal.
“It’s also an opportunity for community members who have staged a successful event or activity using one of our community or bushfire recovery grants to be recognised for their hard work and volunteer efforts.
“We’re looking forward to seeing this year’s nominees.”
Award winners will be announced at the 2023 Primary Healthcare Awards and dinner on Friday 10 November.
