MPHN confirms re-election of Board directors at AGM
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is pleased to announce the re-election of two incumbent directors, Peta Larsen and Dr Alam Yoosuff, to the firsthealth Board.
Their continued leadership was affirmed by a vote of members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on 1 November in Wagga Wagga.
Board Chair Dr Jodi Culbert said she was delighted to see the return of Ms Larsen and Dr Yoosuff, as well as the strong interest shown in the Board positions.
‘Both Peta and Alam bring invaluable expertise and passion to our Board and we’re looking forward to their continued contributions over the next three years,’ Dr Culbert said.
‘It was also encouraging to see such high interest in the Board this year, with a talented group eager to help shape MPHN’s future.
‘This level of engagement is a testament to our organisation’s strength, and we look forward to building on our achievements and working toward our shared vision in the years ahead.’
Peta Larsen is an accredited dietitian, and has held senior health management positions across acute, primary health and community settings providing leadership to health professionals. With a passion to improve health and wellbeing, Peta contributes to clinical quality and safety as a member of the LiveBetter Clinical Governance Committee and the LikeMind Wagga consortium.
Dr Alam Yoosuff is a rural GP from Finley NSW with particular interests in public health, palliative care and emergency medicine. Alam has been working as the principal GP at Finley Reginal Care and GP/VMO at Finley Hospital since 2008. He is passionate about providing better health outcomes to rural remote communities in the region.
Dr Jodi Culbert said partnerships have been key to MPHN’s impact this year.
‘Through our Collaborative Agreement with the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, we've been able to streamline care and improve system coordination, building a true “one-door” approach to healthcare in the region,’ Dr Culbert said.
‘Our engagement in policy reform also remains critical. This year we were pleased to host Assistant Minister Emma McBride MP, which provided a valuable platform to address workforce and policy implementation challenges.
‘We’re committed to translating national policies locally and to advocating for the needs of our communities.
‘With the re-election of Ms Larsen and Dr Yoosuff, MPHN is well positioned to continue its mission of enhancing healthcare access and outcomes across the region, supported by dedicated leadership and strong community partnerships.’
