MPHN launches grants to support mental health recovery
Local organisations are invited to turn bold ideas into reality through the launch of new mental health grants offering up to $200,000 in funding.
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) has today opened expressions of interest for the 2025–26 Murrumbidgee Psychosocial Grants, with funding of between $25,000 and $200,000 available for innovative, non-clinical mental health support programs in the region.
The grants will support sustainable, evidence-informed initiatives that assist people living with severe mental illness to strengthen their ability to live independently, pursue personal recovery goals, build meaningful social connections, and reduce their reliance on acute mental health services.
In addition to supporting people experiencing severe mental illness, the program is intended to reach a broad range of priority populations within the Murrumbidgee region. These include First Nations peoples, multicultural communities, people living with a disability, LGBTQIA+, older persons, children and young people, the veteran community, and those living in rural and remote areas.
MPHN Senior Manager Priority Populations Anita McRae said the funding offers organisations the chance to think creatively about how they support people in their communities.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local services to bring new ideas to life, especially short-term or pilot projects that have been waiting in the wings for the right funding,” Ms McRae said.
“We’re looking for programs that help people manage daily activities, rebuild their confidence, and connect with others, whether that’s through social participation, education, or employment.”
The grants are open to stable and established organisations with experience delivering services in the Murrumbidgee region. This includes local government bodies, not-for-profit organisations, and community managed providers of mental health and social services.
Expressions of interest close on Monday 5 May 2025.
All funded activities must begin by 2 June 2025 and be completed by 30 June 2026.
