National Advance Care Planning Week
National Advance Care Planning Week is a national awareness campaign that encourages all Australians to think about, discuss, and document their future healthcare wishes. This year’s theme, “Your story, your choice,” highlights the importance of making sure your values and preferences are known and respected.
Advance care planning is the process of planning for future health care in case a time comes when you cannot communicate or make decisions for yourself. It helps ensure your voice is heard, reduces uncertainty for families, and supports health professionals to provide care that aligns with what matters most to you.
During National Advance Care Planning Week, communities across the Murrumbidgee are coming together through information sessions, workshops, and community conversations to help people start these important discussions. Whether you are just beginning to think about advance care planning or ready to document your wishes, these local events provide practical guidance and support.
