Murrumbidgee WARATAH program

The Murrumbidgee WARATAH program aims to ensure allied health services are accessible across the Murrumbidgee, for people living with long term chronic health conditions, especially those who are unable to access appropriate care. The program works with local allied health providers and general practices to fill identified gaps in service availability and accessibility and to better coordinate services.

Common allied health services provided under this program include dietetics, podiatry, diabetes education and physiotherapy.

People living with or at risk of the following may be eligible to access services through this program:

  • Obesity

  • At risk of obesity – particularly in youth

  • Diabetes

  • Chronic pain

  • Frailty

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Respiratory disease

  • Physical inactivity

The Murrumbidgee WARATAH program does not provide services in all communities across the Murrumbidgee, particularly if there are allied health services already available to help people manage their chronic health conditions. Please see your GP who can provide advice regarding allied health services accessible to you, including referral to WARATAH if appropriate.
