Tom’s LHAC chat

Firstly, I would like to provide a warm welcome to all of the new LHAC members who have recently joined LHACs. I hope you find this new experience interesting and rewarding. I would also like to congratulate the many new office bearers who have been elected throughout February. Thank you to all of the previous office bearers for your hard work and commitment to LHACs.

Thank you to all LHAC Chairs and delegates who attended the February MPHN LHAC Sector meeting. I hope you learned some new things from the Healthy Ageing and Palliative Care team. Please reach out to Shelley shelley.gledhill@mphn.org.au if you have any questions or would like to arrange for one of the team members to attend an LHAC meeting or event.

Congratulations to Marilyn Wales from Harden LHAC who is the new Sector Chair for Riverina. Marilyn Joins George John and Matthew Clancy, as Chairs of the Wagga Wagga and Border Sectors.

My primary focus for March and April will be on attending your planning sessions alongside Setchen. I am looking forward to working with all of you to plan ahead and set some goals for 2025/26.

In the planning session item of this newsletter, you will see links to three videos and the initial release of Health Needs Assessment (HNA) data profiles for six Local Government Areas. Please take some time to watch the videos and become familiar with the new data in the HNA data profiles.

Throughout March MPHN staff will be attending several NSW Seniors Festival community events. These events are listed in the events section of this update. If you spot one of our stalls, please drop in and say hello.

Thanks for the chat,

Tom
