Murrumbidgee Aged Care Consortium

The Murrumbidgee Aged Care Consortium brings together key stakeholders from the health, social and community sectors to strengthen support for older people, their carers and aged care providers across the region.

The Consortium provides a forum for collaboration, shared problem-solving and regional planning, with a focus on improving coordination and supporting equitable access to timely, appropriate care.

Through cross-sector partnerships, the Murrumbidgee Aged Care Consortium works to identify service gaps, support system reform and improve the way people navigate the aged care system.

What the Consortium aims to achieve

The Murrumbidgee Aged Care Consortium works collaboratively to:

  • support aged care system reform by developing strategies that improve coordination and address service gaps

  • assist older people, carers and service providers to better understand and navigate the aged care system

  • support professional development opportunities for people working in aged care

  • encourage interprofessional and cross-sector approaches to care

  • identify opportunities for joint initiatives and collaborative funding applications

  • evaluate the work of the Consortium and its initiatives

  • share positive outcomes and learnings across the Murrumbidgee region.

By working together, the Consortium aims to build a more connected, responsive and accessible aged care system for older people and their carers.
