Pharmacies continue to play an increasing role in vaccination delivery across Australia.
Data from the Australian Immunisation Register shows the proportion of patients receiving their annual influenza vaccination from a pharmacist has increased from 23% in 2023 to 31% in 2026.

Developed by the Northern Sydney Public Health Unit, VaxCheck NSW helps immunisation providers identify vaccines recommended for individual patients.
The tool:
Tailors recommendations according to age, medical conditions, pregnancy status, lifestyle and occupation.
Indicates whether recommended vaccines are funded through the National Immunisation Program or state programs, or require private purchase.
Allows results to be downloaded as a PDF for inclusion in patient records.
