Across the Murrumbidgee, primary health care nurses play a vital role in keeping people well and connecting them with timely, accessible care close to home.
On Primary Health Care Nurses Day in February, Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) celebrated nurses from across the region and recognised the skill, professionalism and commitment they bring to their communities every day.
From supporting people to manage chronic conditions to conducting assessments, delivering health education, and coordinating care, nurses play a vital role in delivering high-quality, responsive primary healthcare.
MPHN Clinical Programs Manager Erin Godwin said their impact extends well beyond the consultation room.
"Our primary health care nurses know their patients and their communities. They bring expertise, compassion and an incredible commitment to helping people stay well. We’re proud to work alongside them and to recognise the difference they make every day across the Murrumbidgee," Ms Godwin said.
Celebrating their contribution also highlights the importance of continuing to support and develop the primary care nursing workforce – strengthening local services and helping communities access high-quality care closer to home.
