Better and faster access – more clinical information for allied health practitioners
Do you rely on pathology or imaging results to help inform care for your clients?
In October 2025, a phased rollout of changes began as part of the Better and Faster Access initiative. From 1 July 2026, Sharing by Default legislation will come into effect.
These changes mean important information about an individual’s health will be available to them, and to practitioners involved in their care, when it is needed, via My Health Record.
For allied health practitioners, this includes faster access—often immediate—to key clinical information such as pathology results and imaging reports (including results for limbs).

Want to learn more about accessing My Health Record? Even if your clinical software does not integrate with My Health Record, you can still view records using the National Provider Portal (NPP).
