Celebrating excellence in primary healthcare

The 2025 Murrumbidgee Primary Healthcare Awards celebrated the people, programs and partnerships making a difference to health and wellbeing across the region.

Held in Wagga Wagga on 31 October 2025, the awards brought the primary healthcare community together to recognise outstanding work across four categories: Promoting Healthy Living, Innovation, Emerging Leader and Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare.

The finalists demonstrated the breadth of primary healthcare across the Murrumbidgee, from prevention and early intervention to mental health, healthy ageing, children’s health and community leadership.

Importantly, the awards do more than recognise individual achievement. They provide an opportunity to share successful locally led approaches, learn from each other and celebrate the commitment of the people working every day to improve healthcare in their communities.

“The quality of applications was exceptional,” MPHN Chair Associate Professor Alam Yoosuff said. “Every submission reflected a deep commitment to community, and it was clear that people were going above and beyond to deliver better health outcomes for our communities.”
