Discontinuation of supply of Vivaxim, consider switching to Avaxim & Typhim Vi

Sanofi would like to inform you that the Vivaxim® (Salmonella typhi Vi polysaccharide and hepatitis A virus antigen) vaccine will no longer be supplied in Australia once current stocks have depleted. The last batches manufactured have an expiry date of 30 November 2024. 

After careful consideration, Sanofi has made the decision to no longer offer Vivaxim® globally. This decision is not linked to safety or quality issues. 

Avaxim and Typhim Vi contain the same active ingredients as Vivaxim. Consider ordering separate Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccines. 

  •  AVAXIM®, Hepatitis A virus (inactivated, adsorbed) for immunisation against hepatitis A

  • TYPHIM Vi®, Salmonella typhi VI polysaccharide vaccine for immunisation against typhoid fever

Both Avaxim and Typhim Vi are indicated for adults and children 2 years and older.
