Update to 2025 National Immunisation Program influenza vaccines
Sanofi’s VaxiGrip Tetra® vaccine for the 2025 influenza season is expected to arrive in early April. To ensure early access to flu vaccines for all eligible groups, a supply of Sanofi’s FluQuadri® has been made available for immunisation providers to vaccinate National Immunisation Program (NIP) eligible children aged 6 months to less than 5 years until VaxiGrip Tetra® stock is distributed.
Due to the late addition of the FluQuadri® to the program, its packaging will not be labelled with “Government Funded Program – 2025” like other NIP influenza vaccines. Immunisation providers are advised to carefully identify this stock and ensure it is only used and recorded as a NIP funded vaccination for children 6 months to less than 5 years.
Providers with questions about vaccine orders should contact their respective state or territory health departments.
For the latest 2025 NIP influenza vaccination program updates, health professionals can visit health.gov.au/flu.
A news item will be posted when the ATAGI Statement on the administration of seasonal influenza vaccines in 2025 has been updated to include this change.
