New Bowel Cancer Screening Learning Hub now live

The Learning Hub will support healthcare providers to increase their understanding and awareness of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program as well as bowel cancer screening and diagnosis in Australia more generally. It can be accessed at www.gpex.com.au/nbcsp-education. 

Through the Learning Hub, healthcare providers will be able to access free CPD accredited online courses, download resources to assist with guiding patients through the bowel cancer screening continuum and register for free, in-person events and online webinars and workshops. 

A series of webinars and workshops have been scheduled for the latter half of the year, with the first event commencing in August. A summary of upcoming events, both in-person and online is available here.   

The following 3 Core modules will be available from mid-August:

    • Getting to the bottom of bowel cancer in Australia: breaking down the data and what you need to know to put it into practice

    • Bums on (toilet) seats: population screening for bowel cancer in Australia

    • From kit to colonoscopy: navigating your patients through population bowel screening 

The following 6 elective modules will be released over the coming months:

    • Symptoms, signs and surveillance: managing your patient with signs of bowel cancer

    • Genetics, risk and guidelines: understanding bowel cancer risk to guide patient screening options

    • Screening success: understanding trends, engaging patients, and reducing barriers to bowel cancer screening

    • From unsure to informed: referring and talking to your patients about colonoscopy

    • Scope, monitor, repeat: understanding surveillance and recall after colonoscopy

    • Beyond diagnosis: bowel cancer survivorship care and psychosocial support
