Updated Australian Asthma Guidelines, resources + webinar

The National Asthma Council (NAC) updated the Australian Asthma Handbook in September 2025.

The revised guidelines outline new recommendations for asthma management in adults and adolescents, including advice to move away from as‑needed SABA‑only treatment.

The guidelines now recommend anti‑inflammatory reliever (AIR)‑only therapy and maintenance‑and‑reliever therapy (MART) for people aged over 12 years, with a focus on managing airway inflammation rather than symptoms alone.

New accompanying resources have also been released to support translation of the updated guidelines into clinical practice.

To support implementation, the NAC is hosting a free CPD webinar, Reshaping Asthma Management.

Date: Thursday 14 May
Time: 7.00pm
