Resources to support understanding of general practice accreditation
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has developed a suite of resources to help consumers better understand general practice accreditation and its importance in primary health care.
The resources include:
a consumer fact sheet
posters for display in practices
a poster for services providing primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
a dedicated webpage for consumers: https://www.safetyandquality.gov.au/your-health-service/understanding-general-practice-accreditation
These materials explain accreditation in a clear and accessible way, outlining how it supports safe, high-quality care and what patients can expect from an accredited general practice.
