Accreditation practice pointer: our team discusses admin matters

C3.4 A Our practice team has the opportunity to discuss administrative matters with the principal practitioners, practice directors, practice management, or owners when necessary.

RACGP Standards for general practice

It has been proven that organisations that run more effectively when bullying is not an issue. Indeed, general practice teams are more likely to deliver optimum primary healthcare when all staff members, clinical and non-clinical, are encouraged to discuss administrative matters with practice management.

General practices must develop a process for the practice team to escalate issues, when necessary. There must also be evidence that the practice team has had opportunities to discuss administrative matters.

Such open internal communication can be achieved by holding practice team meetings at regular intervals. All decisions and ensuing actions must be documented.
