Emergency Management of Severe Trauma Workshop

Murrumbidgee PHN was recently successful in reserving nine places for general practitioners from the Murrumbidgee region to attend the EMST workshop, which is being run in Wagga Wagga by the College of Surgeons in November this year.

This highly sought after training is concerned with the management of injury victims within the first couple of hours of injury, and as such is a fantastic training program for those GPs working as visiting medical officers (VMOs) in the accident and emergency departments in our small rural locations.

Expressions of interest were called from GPs who wished to attend this training, with the criteria that the successful applicants must be currently working as a VMO within the Murrumbidgee PHN geographic area.

MPHN is delighted that there was so much interest in the workshop. The nine lucky GPs attending the workshop in November are from Adelong, Corowa, Holbrook, Junee, Leeton, Temora, Tumut, and Young.

Successful applicants will receive a fully funded place in the workshop plus their accommodation and meals. This is a fantastic training and networking opportunity for these GPs.
