Funding for cancer screening

MPHN recently invited Murrumbidgee community pharmacies and local health advisory committees (LHACs) to apply for funding to increase community participation in state and national bowel, breast and cervical screening programs. 

23 community pharmacies were successful with each receiving $5000 funding, including pharmacies from: 

  • Berrigan
  • Boorowa
  • Cootamundra
  • Culcairn
  • Deniliquin
  • Finley
  • Harden
  • Griffith
  • Gundagai 
  • Jerilderie
  • Moama
  • Narrandera
  • Temora
  • Tumut
  • Urana
  • Wagga Wagga
  • Walla Walla
  • Young

 13 LHACs have also been awarded $1000 each:

  • Adelong/Batlow 
  • Barham
  • Berrigan
  • Corowa
  • Culcairn
  • Deniliquin
  • Finley
  • Griffith
  • Henty
  • Leeton
  • Murrumburrah-Harden
  • Narrandera
  • Young

The initiatives will be rolled out over the next 6 months, supported by MPHN.
