Antenatal Shared Care Program

The Riverina Antenatal Shared Care Program aims to provide a high standard of pregnancy care for women giving birth in the Riverina. This program has developed as a result of collaboration between the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital and local GP Obstetrcians. The Antenatal Shared Care Program aims to:

  • Provide choice, continuity of care and greater accessibility for women by seeing their general practitioner during pregnancy

  • Enable general practitioners to provide a high standard of antenatal care to women who are suitable for antenatal shared care

  • Provide general practitioners with recommended 'best practice' standard for antenatal care

  • Provide clear referral pathways when low risk pregnancy deviate from normal
