The West Wyalong community is being asked to prioritise local health needs at a community meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 29 October at 6pm at the West Wyalong Country Club.

It’s part of a joint community-led project between the West Wyalong community, Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) and Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) and comes after a recent presentation by and to the community about the identified health needs of the region.

The committee supporting the community-led approach has been working with MPHN and MLHD to identify the important health needs.

MPHN Chief Executive Officer Melissa Neal said the committee are ready to consolidate this work and prioritise which of those needs will be co-designed and addressed.

“We are inviting people in West Wyalong to come along on Tuesday evening and participate in determining which health priorities the community, MLHD and MPHN will work to address first,” Ms Neal said.

“At the meeting on 8 October where the health needs were presented, those who attended were very enthusiastic and agreed with the identified health needs,” Ms Neal said.

MLHD Chief Executive Jill Ludford said prioritising these needs will assist us focus on initiatives and strategies to deliver sustainable and effective local health services which address local needs.

“We have listened to the issues raised by the community and are inviting all interested members of the community to attend,” Ms Ludford said.
