Endometriosis and pelvic pain clinic now open in Wagga Wagga
Representatives from MPHN, Nova Health, MLHD and Wagga Womens Health Centre celebrated the launch of the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic in Wagga Wagga.
Women in the Murrumbidgee can now access specialised endometriosis and pelvic pain care locally, with the new Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic open and taking bookings at Nova Health in Wagga Wagga this week.
The clinic was officially launched on Monday 30 March, marking a step forward in improving access to coordinated, women‑centred care for conditions that are often under‑diagnosed and under‑treated.
Assistant Minister for Women, the Hon Rebecca White MP, said the clinic will help address long‑standing gaps in access to specialised care for women, particularly in regional communities.
“Too many women have spent years living with debilitating pain that is often dismissed or misunderstood,” Assistant Minister White said.
“They deserve to have their concerns taken seriously with better access to specialised care no matter where they live.
“We want women to know that they are not alone with these health issues and expert help is available. These clinics are about dignity, early intervention and better outcomes for all women.”
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) worked closely with Nova Health Co to support the establishment of the clinic. Alongside providing direct patient care, the clinic will continue to collaborate with local health professionals to establish clear referral pathways, strengthening diagnosis and treatment options across the region.
“This clinic significantly improves access to specialised care for women with complex and often life‑impacting conditions, allowing more care to be delivered closer to home,” MPHN CEO Narelle Mills said.
“It represents progress for women’s health in our region and reflects the importance of investing in services that respond directly to local need.”
The clinic improves access to diagnosis, treatment and referral services for people living with endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain, including coordinated support for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause, with a focus on earlier intervention and better long‑term outcomes.
Patients can access the clinic with a referral from their GP or self refer. Delivered by Nova Health Co, the clinic is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing as part of its national expansion of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinics.
“Women often experience long delays to diagnosis or feel their symptoms are dismissed, which can be incredibly frustrating and isolating,” Nova Health Co Director Dr Trudi Beck said.
“Our clinic focuses on listening to women, providing coordinated and compassionate care, and supporting them through different stages of their lives in a respectful way.”
