Recognising healthcare excellence in the Murrumbidgee

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Murrumbidgee Primary Healthcare Awards, with Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) encouraging healthcare professionals, practices and organisations to showcase the work improving the lives of local people.

The awards recognise excellence in primary healthcare and honour people, teams and programs demonstrating leadership, innovation, health promotion and emerging talent.

MPHN Chair Associate Professor Alam Yoosuff said the awards are an opportunity to highlight the achievements of local primary healthcare professionals.

“We have an incredible depth of skill across our workforce, and our awards give us an opportunity to come together and celebrate the people and programs that are delivering results,” Associate Professor Yoosuff said.

“From improving access to care and supporting healthier lifestyles to developing new approaches to healthcare delivery, there’s outstanding work happening every day.

“By sharing these stories, we’re also creating opportunities to learn from one another and build on what’s working well.”

The 2026 Murrumbidgee Primary Healthcare Awards will be held at The Range Function Centre in Wagga Wagga on Friday 30 October 2026.

Award categories include Outstanding Contribution to Leadership in Primary Healthcare, Innovation, Promoting Healthy Living and Emerging Leader.

MPHN CEO Narelle Mills said the awards recognised the wide range of contributions helping to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.

“Last year's winners included initiatives focused on falls prevention, children's eye health, suicide prevention and community leadership,” Ms Mills said.

“So whether you're part of a small local project, a large healthcare service or an innovative new program, we encourage you to consider nominating.

“The awards night is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate success, connect with your colleagues and recognise the work being undertaken throughout primary healthcare.”

Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 6 September 2026.

Winners will be announced at the 2026 Murrumbidgee Primary Healthcare Awards dinner on Friday 30 October 2026.
