General Practitioners are usually the first point of call for any health problems and as such are key to the early diagnosis and ongoing care of people with musculoskeletal problems.
Dr Andrew Clout, orthopaedic surgeon, will be presenting to local GPs on future directions in hip and knee replacement surgery, focusing on advances in hip replacement and optimisation of pain management and early rehabilitation in knee replacement surgery.
This workshop will address a common knee and hip issues that GPs will often encounter in their daily practice. It will enable GPs to review their current knowledge and skills in this field and upskill them in accordance with continuous advancement in medical treatment and diagnostics. Primary and secondary care clinicians have highly complementary skill sets and opportunities to work more closely together will ensure improved outcomes for patients with musculoskeletal issues.
