The Hopkins Centre invites members, partners, people with lived experience of rehabilitation and disability to join us for a National Pain Week special event, Rehabilitation and Pain Management: Insights for National Pain Week, on Wednesday 30 July 2025 at12.30pm AEST.
Dr Nicholas Aitcheson will lead the session with practical strategies for managing pain in everyday life. He’ll be joined by OT clinician pain researcher Hannah Kennedy, and Metro South’s Niamh Jensen to explore how Virtual Reality (VR) is transforming rehabilitation, including insights from the VR Pain Education study. Hopkins researcher Kelly Walsh, and Frith Lavin, a researcher with lived experience, will share an update on the Seed grant, Making Interdisciplinary Pain Management Programs More Patient-Centred: A Qualitative Study of Patients' Perceptions of the ENGAGE Pain Group and discuss how the findings resonate with Frith’s experience of living with persistent pain.
