Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course and its components, participants will be able to:  

  • Describe current STI, BBV and HIV epidemiological trends in Australia, including priority populations and opportunities for prevention.  

  • Explain the role of HIV PrEP as part of comprehensive STI and BBV prevention, including patient suitability, baseline assessment and ongoing monitoring.  

  • Apply evidence-based, culturally safe strategies to support patient education, shared decision-making and referrals for STI, BBV and HIV prevention in nursing practice.
