Tradie Day for Mental Wellbeing – Bundys Plastering
Tradie Day, delivered by Bundys Plastering, is a community-led mental wellbeing initiative supporting men and women working in Narrandera’s construction and trade industries. The initiative focuses on a workforce that experiences higher rates of suicide and psychological distress, particularly in regional settings with limited access to services.
The event aims to reduce stigma around mental health, normalise help-seeking, strengthen peer networks and social connection, and increase mental health literacy and early intervention opportunities across the local trades community.
Tradie Day will be delivered in a relaxed, non-clinical environment designed to feel approachable and safe. The event will include a free community lunch and a guest speaker with lived experience, creating space for honest and practical conversations about mental health.
A mixed-team social bowls competition will encourage connection across different worksites and support the development of informal peer networks. A continuous charity raffle will operate across the day, raising funds for Can Assist Narrandera.
Participants will also have access to on-site mental health workers and trained ambassadors, providing information, resources and opportunities for one-on-one conversations. A Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony will open the event, ensuring cultural respect and inclusion.
Printed resources and branded giveaways, including Tough Jobs, Real Talk drink holders and stickers, will be distributed to reinforce key messages and extend the impact beyond the day itself.
