Tom’s LHAC chat
Thank you to all LHAC chairs who attended the latest round of sector teleconferences and offered feedback on the proposed changes to the format of these meetings. It was great to hear your comments and concerns and it’s pleasing each sector was keen to see some changes in this area and give the new format a try. Keep an eye out on your emails for a poll to choose your preferred meeting time for the combined meeting which will take place in November.
As part of our work to better support LHACs and the MPHN representative for each LHAC, new MPHN LHAC representative allocations have been finalised and will be announced shortly. Proposed changes to the LHAC update, re-allocation of representatives and the changes to the sector teleconferences have been a result of your feedback provided as part of consultations held earlier this year and I thank you for participating in them.
August has been another busy month which started with helping out at the Wagga Wagga Foodbank pop-up and Homelessness Expo. There will be another Foodbank pop-up event at the Tumut Railway Precinct on 18 September 2024, followed by Hay and Deniliquin events (dates to be confirmed).
Setchen and I travelled to Leeton for their inaugural LHAC meeting with a refreshed committee. I look forward to working with the Leeton LHAC as they continue to grow into the future.
MPHN held another successful Conversations on the Couch in Tumut hearing from local community members and organisations. The final Conversations on the Couch event for 2024 was held in West Wyalong on Friday 30 August.
Excitement is building for the upcoming LHAC forum in Corowa on Friday 6 September. I look forward to seeing everyone again so please come and say hello. I will also be at the Henty Machinery Field Days on 17, 18 and 19 September.
Until next time.
Thanks for the chat,
Tom
