1800MEDICARE – fact sheet for health professionals
1800MEDICARE is a free 24/7 service connecting consumers with a registered nurse for advice on any health concern and guidance to the right care.
Nurses provide evidence-based advice and refer patients to appropriate services, including GPs, Medicare Urgent Care Clinics, pharmacies, local health services or emergency departments.
After hours, patients may also be offered a GP telehealth consultation when timely in-person care is not available, where clinically appropriate.
