Practice connections
Over the past 12 months, MPHN has connected with more than 50 allied health practices across the region through individual meetings and practice visits. These conversations have been complemented by allied health group meetings, education sessions, networking events, consultation opportunities, and ongoing phone and email support, helping us provide tailored information, resources and connections.
A diverse and valuable workforce
We have identified 291 allied health provider organisations and businesses delivering services across the Murrumbidgee region. These include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, exercise physiology, optometry, podiatry, pharmacy, psychology, audiology, counselling, osteopathy, art therapy, diabetes education, social work and chiropractic care.
These connections have highlighted the diversity, expertise and value of the allied health workforce. We have also heard a consistent desire for greater recognition of allied health professions and more opportunities for professional connection and collaboration, aligning with priorities outlined in MPHN's Allied Health Engagement Strategy.
Navigating change together
Allied health professionals are operating in a rapidly changing environment, with reforms and updates across programs and systems including Thriving Kids, the NDIS, Support at Home, the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
MPHN is committed to keeping the sector informed by sharing updates, consultation opportunities and relevant information as it becomes available.
Supporting digitally enhanced care
Allied health professionals are interested in digital health solutions that improve efficiency, support person-centred care and enhance communication.
Emerging digital tools are creating new opportunities for information sharing, treatment planning and multidisciplinary collaboration. To support capability building across the sector, MPHN provides access to:
