Help shape the future of alcohol and other drug services across our region
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is undertaking an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Health Needs Assessment to inform future planning, service design and commissioning across the Murrumbidgee region. This work will help identify local priorities, service gaps and opportunities to improve outcomes for people affected by alcohol and other drug use.
As you will be aware, in 2025, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing commissioned an evaluation of the Drug and Alcohol Program (DAP), which found that stakeholders highly valued the program, while also identifying the need to strengthen outcome measurement, improve efficiency and better demonstrate impact across the AOD system.
The MPHN AOD Health Needs Assessment will combine local data, service mapping, commissioning intelligence and stakeholder feedback to help identify opportunities to:
Improve access to AOD services.
Strengthen coordination across the health and social support system.
Enhance integration between AOD, primary care and mental health services.
Support workforce capability and sustainability.
Improve equitable access and outcomes for priority populations.
If you are an AOD worker, service provider, family member, carer, or person with lived or living experience, we want to hear from you.
Your knowledge and experiences can help us better understand emerging trends, workforce challenges, service gaps and the barriers people face when seeking support. Your feedback will inform future planning, commissioning and investment decisions, helping ensure local services better reflect community needs.
This survey forms part of MPHN’s health needs assessment process, which draws on local data, stakeholder feedback and lived experience to identify service gaps and opportunities.
