Demystifying Dementia GP educational session – Griffith

Demystifying Dementia

The Australian Institute of Health & Welfare reports that: “in 2020 Dementia was the leading cause of death for women and the second leading cause for men”. GPs are on the front line of dementia diagnosis and the post-diagnostic care of people with dementia. GPs and Clinical Practice Staff are welcome to join Dr Hilton Koppe, a GP and Medical Educator from Dementia Training Australia, in a 2-hour interactive session designed to broaden your knowledge, skills and confidence in caring for people living with dementia.  Hilton will provide a practical approach to improving your knowledge, skills, and confidence in the diagnosis of dementia in general practice. The session will introduce a series of useful frameworks and how these frameworks can be applied through a case study and discussion.  There will also be an opportunity to explore resources made available through Murrumbidgee Health Pathways to support your work with people living with dementia.
