SafeScript NSW: Real Time Prescription Monitoring

Murrumbidgee PHN together with Wester NSW PHN and Healthy North Cost would like to invite General Practitioners, Practice Managers and Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and Specialist to a webinar hosted by the SafeScript NSW and the panel of local professionals. This session will provide prescribers and pharmacists with real-time information about a patient’s prescribing and dispensing history for certain high-risk medicines, known as monitored medicines, which will help to improve clinical decision making and help keep patients safe.

SafeScript NSW provides prescribers and pharmacists with real-time information about a patient’s prescribing and dispensing history for certain high-risk medicines, known as monitored medicines. This information helps to improve clinical decision making and help keep patients safe.

SafeScript NSW will be available to all prescribers and pharmacists in NSW from May 2022. Learn about the benefits of SafeScript NSW and how the system is intended to be used.

At the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Integrate SafeScript NSW system clinical workflow processes to improve management of patients using drugs of dependence;

  • Use SafeScript NSW to analyse and interpret patient history to inform best practice patient outcomes;

  • Use current best practice clinical guidance including best practice communication techniques to manage patients prescribed monitored medicines and their wellbeing; and

  • Identify and access critical information and resources to support clinical decision making and reduce potential harm for patients prescribed monitored medicines.
