Presented by the SEARCH Project and Family Planning Australia.
Abortion was legalised in NSW in 2019 by the Abortion Law Reform Act. Medical abortion prescribers remain in low numbers however, and myths and misinformation about this facet of reproductive health persist.
This webinar will provide clear information about pregnancy options and the role of primary care clinicians as well as shine some light on common misperceptions around being a medical abortion provider.
We will clearly explain the legal obligations of health practitioners when approached for care and how to engage in as much or as little as feels appropriate for your circumstances, your clinic and your patient population.
If you agree with any of these statements, then this webinar is for you.

My clinic needs special equipment to offer medical abortion
People will come and picket me if I provide abortion care
Terminations for non-medical reasons are illegal in NSW
The person must have extensive counselling first
There are already enough doctors doing it
It’s not safe / doesn't work
It will ruin my patients’ life if I say yes
