A Podiatry Round Table

Exploring Podiatry in the Murrumbidgee

With an ageing population and increasing rates of chronic illness, the demand for podiatry services in regional and rural areas continues to outstrip supply. Locally we have heard from clinicians about the need for support and more integrated services, and from communities who have little to no access and face long waiting times to access care.

Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) and Three Rivers Department of Rural Health would like to invite Podiatrists providing services in the Murrumbidgee region to a Virtual Roundtable to start a collective conversation about how to address this growing need.

This will be an initial discussion with an opportunity to gauge interest and need for ongoing collaboration across this space.

Topics for discussion:

  • What can be done to support the Podiatry workforce pipeline? What role, if any, do clinicians play in these efforts?

  • Where do you see opportunities to support more integrated services?

  • What are the opportunities for workforce and digital innovation?

  • What can we do to support our existing Podiatry workforce?

Hear from:

Tim Morris, Podiatrist (Podiatry in Motion, Dubbo)

Tim will share the story of his pathway into Podiatry practice and how some unique thinking about recruitment has supported his entry into the profession.

Daniel Perri, Podiatrist (The Foot Clinics)

Daniel will share about his approach in practice to minimise the impacts of clinical and non-clinical demands on clinicians that contribute to burnout.

To reduce geographical barriers to attendance this is a virtual event
