Ageism Awareness Workshop (Wagga)

  • Wagga Wagga Community Aged Care 14 College Avenue Turvey Park, NSW, 2650 Australia (map)

Build the skills and confidence to recognise, challenge, and reduce ageism in your workplace or community.

If you are a GP, Registrar, Nurse, Pharmacist, Allied Health Professional, Medical Student, Aboriginal Health Professional, Paramedic or anyone working with older people and want to promote respect and inclusion across all ages, don’t miss these FREE events.

Join us for an interactive workshop that will examine the assumptions and stereotypes commonly associated with ageing and older people.

Backed by research, this workshop is a must for individuals and organisations who work with older people, or who want to create an engaged and effective workplace.

What to expect?

  • Engage in self-reflection exercises and small group discussions to explore your own attitudes and beliefs about age.

  • Develop a deeper understanding of the social and cultural factors that shape these perceptions.

  • Challenge ageist stereotypes about older people relating to their capacity, health outcomes, needs and wants

  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of age beliefs and ageism and increase your skills for developing and implementing age-friendly initiatives in the workplace
