Mental Health Awareness Campaign – Deni MHAG
The Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group (Deni MHAG) will deliver a community-wide mental health awareness initiative in partnership with Edward River Council and the Rotary Club of Deniliquin.
The campaign aims to strengthen mental health literacy and reduce stigma across the Edward River Council region through clear, consistent and locally relevant messaging that encourages open conversation and community engagement.
Activities will include the placement of stickers and corflute signage in public spaces, increasing visibility and prompting everyday conversations about mental health. Media engagement will be delivered through monthly radio interviews and newspaper features as part of the Sticky Topics series, providing regular opportunities to share practical messages and local stories.
The campaign will officially launch at major community events, including the Edward River Council Christmas Party and Rotary Carols, ensuring strong reach and community recognition. Ongoing social media activity will support the campaign messages and direct people to online resources and local support information.
Messaging will centre on five core themes: Help Anywhere, Share the Load, Brave Enough, We All Have a Role to Play, and #starttheconversation, reinforcing that mental health is a shared responsibility and help is available across the community.
