Telehealth medication review follow-ups from November

From 1 November 2026, pharmacists will be able to conduct follow-up Home Medicines Reviews (HMRs) and Residential Medication Management Reviews (RMMRs) via telehealth.

Announced at the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's National Conference, the change is intended to improve access to medication safety services, particularly for people living in rural and remote areas.

The PSA has welcomed the reform, highlighting the important role medication reviews play in identifying medication-related problems, optimising medicine use and improving patient outcomes.
