Wound Care in General Practice - Online session 1

PHN ACT and Murrumbidgee invites local General Practitioners and Practice Nurses to a webinar series which is aimed at increasing knowledge and skills for managing patients with acute and chronic wounds. It will provide clarity on patient assessment and identification of patients that require referral. In addition, we will look at dressings and how to select the right dressing to optimise patient experience and outcomes.

Session 1:

• Provide an overview of wound healing, factors that impact healing, and the importance of assessment and documentation

• Identify the difference between acute and chronic wounds

• Provide an understanding of first aid for burn injuries & how to manage minor burns

• Provide an understanding of prevention and treatment of skin tears
