Cancer

Cancer is now the leading cause of disease burden in Australia, surpassing cardiovascular disease. On average, one in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime (Cancer Institute NSW). Improving cancer screening participation and reducing modifiable risk factors are key public health priorities.

There are a wide range of services available to support people impacted by cancer, as well as for their families and carers.

Cancer Council

Cancer Council delivers many support services for all people affected by cancer.

Cancer Hub

Cancer Hub helps young people aged 0-25 affected by cancer.

Cancer Hub is a free service delivered by Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite, which connects young people with a wide range of support services delivered by these charities and a broader network of organisations. This service supports young people diagnosed with cancer, whose family members are impacted by cancer and who are experiencing bereavemant.
