Access, prevention and healthy living

Good health starts well before someone needs hospital care. Across 2025-2026, MPHN worked to make health information, prevention and care easier to access – whether that meant taking trusted information directly to communities, helping people prepare for extreme weather, strengthening virtual care or better understanding the barriers experienced by multicultural communities.

The work reflects the diversity of the Murrumbidgee and the different ways people need to connect with healthcare. From conversations at the Henty Machinery Field Days to Healthdirect’s 24/7 virtual services and practical dementia education for local health professionals, each initiative tackled access from a different angle, helping people find trusted information, navigate the health system and connect with care earlier.
